About the Network

Co-founded with two colleagues, the African Early Career Researchers in Education (AECRE) aims to bring together early-career (including doctoral) researchers of African origin, residing in Africa and the diaspora, who conduct research in education and other disciplines, with a focus on Africa.

The network’s vision is to produce the next generation of (education) researchers of African origin who will collaborate, be globally recognised as thought leaders, and drive evidence-based decision-making on education in Africa. Through collaboration with universities, we organize and facilitate writing workshops on a voluntary basis in an effort to support, promote, and advance the interests of African Early Career Researchers. Our activities have so far been limited to Ghana and Zimbabwe. We also strive to increase the visibility of research and other contributions of AECRs in the field of education.
