Sunray Foundation

About the initiative

Started in January 2018, the aim of the initiative is to help students in (primary and secondary) rural schools in South Africa and Zimbabwe (and possibly beyond) by providing different kinds of resources such as stationery, uniforms, food packs and academic/career guidance; as well as facilitate a peer-to-peer mentoring programme.

The first activity was to provide stationery to selected Form 3 and 4 students in Zimbabwe.

To help young people have a positive learning experience that can result in successful completion of schooling.
The peer-to-peer mentoring is to encourage a culture of giving back to others and the community through time and talent capital.

Current activity

Based on the needs identified, the initiative continues to collect new or used but good school uniforms (of any colour), shoes, water bottles, reading and writing books, and sanitary towels to distribute to as many rural secondary schools as possible.
